Starting Snomed

A Beginner's Guide to the Snomed CT Healthcare Terminology

About the Book

Medical records are changing, and at the same time the skills that clinicians require to ensure that information is recorded correctly are changing too. In the past students learned to navigate large, heavy and complicated paper records. Now doctors, nurses and other health workers must be able to enter information into electronic records that could be read by someone in a completely different setting or used by an electronic algorithm to monitor safety or suggest treatments.

Snomed CT can be a vital tool to make sure that information is stored in a way that carries meaning and allows us to get the maximum benefit from electronic records.

This book will take you from no knowledge of Snomed to having all of the skills to make the most of this flexible and comprehensive tool in coding clinical information.

Worth at least a couple of hours of professional development you can improve your knowledge of the most advanced medical terminology currently available. The book is available as a paperback as well as on Amazon Kindle. If you have a kindle and Amazon Prime you can read the book for free (in the sense of having already paid for it!)
